CUBA, April 29, 2009. Foreign Ministers from the Movement of Non- Aligned Countries (NAM) will analyze on April 29 and 30 the documents that will shape the 15th Summit of the organization, slated for Egypt in July. As a prior step, the NAM top officials continued their work at Havana’s Convention Center on Tuesday to pave the way for the foreign ministers, Juventud Rebelde newspaper reports. The experts’ sessions began on Monday immediately after the opening speech by Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez. Among their first agreements was the ratification of the proposal to add Tajikistan as a NAM observer. A total of 102 delegations from the 118 member nations are already in the Cuban capital, as well as 15 Foreign Ministers who brought their arrival forward, among the approximately 60 that have confirmed their attendance at the Ministerial Meeting. The draft of the Final Declaration that will mark the course of the Movement and that will be submitted for its approval to the heads of state and government in Egypt includes 467 paragraphs, of which only 11 are pending consensus. Nations like Venezuela, Bolivia, Libya, Iraq and Djibouti will have the opportunity of suggesting additional paragraphs to the text. One of the most important issues reflected in the document is the chapter dedicated to the analysis of the multi-dimensional crisis affecting mankind, confirmed Deputy Foreign Minister Abelardo Moreno.
